MONDAY:
- Write a literary analysis of any of the books we've read this year. This means:
- Decide on an opinion that answers one of the following topics (or other)
- What is the theme (message/moral)?
- Is the description effective?
- Are the characters well-developed?
- Are the characters round/dynamic/likable?
- What is the main conflict?
- Other
- Support your opinion in a 1-2 page paper with at least 3 quotations from the book
- Follow the following outline:
- Brief 1-2 sentence summary of book
- Statement of your opinion
- Several pieces of evidence from the book supporting your opinion. Be sure to use your own words to explain your quotations!
- Brief Conclusion to wrap it all up
- When quoting the book, use the following structure: "Quotation… Quotation," (p. 43).
- Read chapters 1-7 of Chinese Cinderella. This may seem like a lot of homework but the book is a very quick read and shouldn't take too long.
WEDNESDAY:
- Finish The Red Badge of Courage and write 5 discussion questions.
